Magic Trackpad: An Assessment

Even though desktop computers and netbooks are almost similar, there are evident disparities (other than measurements of course) that makes each one better than the other. Probably, among the best advantages of using a laptop computer is its trackpad, that rectangle-shaped thing that functions just like the mouse beneath the keypad, which enables you to search through pages with your fingers. It is like you’re turning through the pages of a book or a newspaper. Though the good old fashioned mouse can do precisely the same, browsing just isn't as fun as using a trackpad.

Well, here’s good news for Apple customers. You can ditch that old mouse and have fun with the perks of a multi-touch trackpad. The Magic Trackpad is the largest multi-touch trackpad made designed for all Mac Pc users. It uses the same technology that on the Macbook Pro. It helps an entire set of gestures thus giving you a brand-new experience on handling and interacting with what’s on your screen.

Hardware

The Magic Trackpad design is one you can possibly hope from its manufacturer. There’s not much to check out. If you’ve seen the standard Apple Bluetooth keyboard, then you’ll very likely have a very good idea of what this accessory appears like. This trackpad is made from smooth, soft, machined aluminum. Its curved back gives the device some lift in the back. The front face is very smooth.

Size

The device is definitely larger than the one set up on Macbook Pro of course. It’s 5.17 inches long and 5.12 inches wide. That’s about 22 square inches of surface area.

Software

The Magic Trackpad uses very same software as the preference pane in OS X, which lets you modify the signals of the trackpad. The only outstanding variation is that this trackpad has an added gesture -- a three finger move which lets users move windows all over or drag objects. However, you will no longer be able to browse through photos or files using a swipe.
